In our endeavor to stay in touch with our members we have set up a national call center, to ensure that our members,
do not have to wait for issues to be resolved. We will also be able to identify services that appeal to our members,
and increase our levels of service in those areas. The national call center number is
WHO ARE WE?
The ECA (SA) is an employers’ organization registered in terms of the Labour Relations Act, and has been
representing electrical contractors in South Africa for 60 years. It has in excess of 3000 members who
employ between 70% and 80% of the total labour force in the Industry. Approximately 80% of all electrical
installations in South Africa are carried out by our members.
The Association represents electrical contractors at all levels, and is recognized by the Government,
supply authorities, consulting engineers, CSIR, ESKOM and the Association of Municipality Electrical
Undertakings as the spokesman for the Industry. The ECA also serves on the SABS Committee responsible
for the Code of Practice for the Wiring of Premises.
The Association also has a large number of Associate members, who are manufacturers and/or wholesalers
who supply plant, machinery, equipment and materials essential to the carrying on of the Industry.

The ECA (SA) emerged from a Strategic Conference with a firm commitment to establish a Technical Vocational Education and Training College to service primarily the electrical contracting business environment. We believe firmly that South Africa needs a workforce in all the listed scarce skills areas, which includes electrical skills, to meet the requirements of business going forward.
