The LEDDUO accents the pergola and provides pathway lighting for this charming precinct.

Historic High Street in Hermanus in the Western Cape has recently been upgraded and renewed with a decorative LED lighting solution supplied by BEKA Schréder. The popular recreational area, featuring the original old-town architecture – narrow alleys, speciality shops, world class art galleries and restaurants – now boasts a unique South African designed and manufactured LED streetlight that fits in with the charm of the new architect-designed theme.

The BEKA Schréder ELLEGA was the chosen solution due to its distinct design and its LED technology: the ideal combination for lighting urban landscapes!

The elegant ELLEGA streetlight illuminates historic High Street in Hermanus.

The ELLEGA, with its simple but elegant linear design, is available in a single or double configuration at various heights. This winning combination of performance, design and flexibility enables the ELLEGA range to illuminate streets, residential areas, parks, and bicycle and pedestrian paths with a better quality of light. Not only does it generate energy savings and reduce the ecological footprint but it’s also the perfect aesthetic solution for this architecturally rich environment.

For the pergola, lighting was required to not only accent the structure, but to also provide pathway lighting. The LEDDUO downlight offered the perfect solution. This proudly South-African designed and manufactured luminaire combines energy efficiency with a sleek and sturdy design. Designed for exterior and interior lighting, the LEDDUO range offers two models – square and round – for a flawless integration into the existing architecture. It is characterised by a refined design, robust construction and an efficient LED engine. Suitable for architectural (façade and accent) and ambiance lighting (parks and gardens), the LEDDUO provides a versatile solution.

The ELLEGA is a unique streetlight that fits beautifully into the new design theme.

BEKA Schréder locally develops and manufactures energy-efficient LED lighting products, designed and suitable for local conditions and is proud to be associated with Overstrand Municipality, Element Consulting Engineers and GAPP Architects and Urban Designers in providing a successful lighting solution for this project.
