Major Tech has stock available of a safe and precise non-contact body and surface infrared thermometer – the MT688, which has a body temperature measuring range of 32.0 °C to 42.5 °C and a measuring distance of 5 to 15cm – and it can be ordered online.

Since the Department of Employment and Labour issued health and safety directives on the 17th of March, a clearer picture of the hazards of COVID-19 emerged and new regulations were issued on 29 April, which take into account “the nature of the hazard and risk in the workplace”.

These directive are to ensure that the measures taken by employers under the Occupational Health and Safety Act are consistent with the overall national strategies and policies to minimise the spread of COVID-19 and state that every employer must take measures to screen all workers at the time they report for work “to ascertain whether they have any of the observable symptoms associated with COVID-19”.
