Episode 12 – Landscape Lighting the Human Centric Way (CPD Activity)

Cost: Free of charge

Date: Thursday 29 July 2021

Time: 5:45pm for 6pm – 7pm (SAST)

Presenter: Special guest speaker, Greg Segal (South Africa)

About: We are thrilled for this webinar to be presented by the renowned Cape Town lighting designer and friend of BHA School of Lighting, Greg Segal, who owns and operates GS Lighting Consulting. With more than 40 years of experience in the lighting and interior design industries, Greg describes himself as an “end-user application lighting designer with a preference for projects in which the human is central to the work”. He has been a strong believer in human centric light for years … long before it became fashionable.

The coming of age of LED light sources as well as the introduction of Human centric principles are now key to the developing of a guide to this fascinating field of lighting application.

Greg will cover a few basic ‘lighting and seeing’’ precepts and concepts before delving a little deeper into the design and installation guidelines that are requirements for good lighting in the landscape and outdoor environment.

The presentation will conclude by discussing lighting techniques, the dos and don’ts and some of the rules and regulations will be covered in an interesting and illustrated way.
