The ECA(SA) and National Bargaining Council for the Electrical Industry (SA) invite all reticulation and air conditioning companies to join them at a special meeting in Port Elizabeth on 11 September to discuss proposed amendments to the Main Agreement of NBCEI and to formulate job descriptions and minimum wage rates for employees employed in these sectors of the Industry.
Lucas Bowles, ECA(SA) Regional Director in the East/South Cape says reticulation and air conditioning companies can enhance their involvement in the industry by adding their voices when the ECA [SA] meet at a special workshop to establish uniform employment conditions for absenteeism, sick leave, misconduct, amongst others.
At the workshop, a short presentation will provide valuable information about the benefits of being part of the NBCEI and ECA: ongoing member support for the day-to-day industry challenges, such as labour, contractual and technical as well as access to tender and agreement forms for small works, handling of disciplinary hearings, assistance with retrenchments, layoffs and short time, as well as representation at Conciliation and Arbitration at NBCEI and CCMA.
As members of the ECA(SA) and NBCEI, reticulation and air conditioning companies can now become part of a network that supports and protects its members in the interests of a clean and compliant industry.
The workshop will be held at the Westview Village and Sports Club, 158 First Avenue, Newton Park, Port Elizabeth from 14h00 to 17h00 on 11 September 2019. A light lunch will be served before the workshop.
