TEN DAYS LEFT TO ENTER YOUR BEST PROJECTS FOR THE ECA(SA) PRESIDENTIAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2017

Entries for the 2017 Annual Presidential Excellence Awards close on 13 October – that’s just ten days left to submit entries for the ECA(SA)’s prestigious competition that showcases the exceptional work done by members over the past year and rewards excellence in the electrical industry in 14 categories.

All the winners will be announced at the awards banquet on 16 November, 2017. where the Premier of Gauteng, Mr David Mkhura, will be the keynote speaker.

The categories are:

  • Installation of the Year – Industrial
  • Installation of the Year – Residential (Houses)
  • Installation of the Year – Residential (Complexes)
  • Installation of the Year – Office Blocks
  • Installation of the Year – Hotels and Hospitals
  • Installation of the Year – Retail and Shopping Centres
  • Energy Efficiency Award
  • Reticulation Contractor of the Year
  • Apprentice of the Year

o   Male

o   Female

  • Women-Owned Business of the Year
  • National Safety Award
  • Special Innovative Projects Award
  • Regional Excellence Award

Projects must have been undertaken between 1 July 2016 and 31 July 2017. Members may submit entries for as many categories as they would like and may enter more than one project in any one category. Members are also invited to nominate and motivate entries for candidates in the Apprentice of the Year category.

All the entries will be adjudicated by an independent panel of respected judges drawn from the electrical, engineering and construction sectors, who will be looking for companies that can demonstrate that they have achieved the highest possible standards in the electrical industry. The judges are: Carel Ballack; Tlepe Mpe; Rob Anderson; Rorisang Morake; Hope Mashele; Lebo Leshabane; and Dimakatso Matshoga.

The awards will be presented to the winning companies at a formal banquet at the Birchwood Hotel and Centre on 16 November 2017. All category winners will receive an engraved trophy and a framed certificate and will also have the right to include the description ‘ECA (SA) Award Winner’ in their promotional material.

The ECA(SA) will publicise the awards, including all the category winners’ names and photographs across all the ECA’s marketing and promotional platforms.
