WESTERN CAPE REGIONAL NEWS: ONGOING TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

In addition to the weekly scheduled modular practical training courses conducted by George Senekal, Regional Training Manager, at the ECA(SA) Cape Town training centre, the Region continues with its various management and related training programmes.
Over the past four months, additional workshops have been conducted on various topics; these include:
- A Labour Relations course conducted by the ECA’s National Director, Mark Mfikoe and Stephen Khola, National Labour Relations and HR Director;
- A Certificate of Compliance course by George Senekal;
- A workshop on the Installation of PV Systems was presented in conjunction with PQRS and was conducted by Carel Ballack; and
- The Unit Standards/OHS Act course, which is one of the requirements for obtaining the respective electrical licence as a registered person – Electrical Tester for Single Phase, Installation Electrician and Master Installation Electrician.
The next Unit Standards / OHS Act course in Cape Town is scheduled for 4 to 7 December 2017 and the 2018 training schedule will be circulated by mid-November and will also be available on the ECA(SA) website under ‘Events’.
We are also scheduling a series of short workshops on how to utilise and complete the ECA Electronic CoC (e-CoC) which is available for purchase by ECA members.
