Due to the massive demand for Solar (PV) and the resultant influx of Solar (PV) contractors, there is a growing concern about the apparent lack of knowledge around the legal requirements and details required to issue a CoC for alternative supply (PV and generators). Needless to say, there are several CoCs being issued that are ‘not worth the paper that they’re written on’.
The ECA(SA), Cape Town Region, is presenting an affordable short training course for ECA members and non-members, which will focus on a detailed completion session of a Solar CoC /Test Report .
Course content and description
An in-depth view on alternative supplies and the documents required for alternative supplies.
The course will cover the following:
1. Standard CoC (page 1) – line for line.
2. Standard Test Report (page 2) – line for line.
3. Alternative supply (PV and generators) – completion of the Test report – line for line.

A great follow up to the two-day Solar (PV) course for electricians who issue CoCs, and especially for those who install alternative power (back-up).
