- New Requirement: Employers must now designate a “competent person” on a full-time basis to supervise machinery at every premises where it is in use.
- Revised Power Ratings: The power ratings that determine when supervision is required have been updated.
- New Power Sources: The draft now includes provisions for power derived from “hydro, wind, and PV power generations”, which were not covered in the original 1988 regulations.
- Amended Exemptions: The exemptions from the requirement to appoint a supervisor have been amended and expanded.
