ECA(SA) BOSVELD PRETORIA BRANCH MEETING STRENGTHENS INDUSTRY COLLABORATION

On Thursday the 2nd of  July, I had the opportunity to attend the ECA(SA) Bosveld Pretoria Branch Meeting. Although I was unable to remain for the full duration of the meeting, the time I spent there was both informative and worthwhile. The event provided an excellent networking platform where electrical contractors, suppliers, and industry stakeholders could engage, exchange ideas, and strengthen professional relationships.

The meeting was hosted by Mr. Johnny Cunniff, Regional Director of ECA(SA) Bosveld and a past President of the Association. His presentation covered several important areas affecting the electrical contracting industry, highlighting current developments, industry challenges, and opportunities for professional growth and compliance.

The agenda included discussions on association matters, labour matters, training and qualifications, marketing and communication initiatives, contractual issues, technical topics, and general industry updates. Attention was given to new training opportunities, including a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) Completion and Practical Course, electrical contracting training initiatives, and technical discussions relating to legal requirements and industry best practices.

An important aspect of the meeting was the focus on continuous professional development and industry support. These discussions reinforced the role of ECA(SA) in promoting compliance, skills development, and the sharing of technical knowledge among electrical contractors.

The success of the event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of MCE Global, Cabstrut, Eurolux/Radiant, CCG, and Budget Insurance. Their continued partnership and commitment to the ECA(SA) Bosveld Region create valuable opportunities for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and business growth. The support of these organisations plays a vital role in fostering a stronger and more connected industry.

With one more Bosveld Region branch meeting still to take place in Nelspruit on the 16th of July, electrical contractors in the area are encouraged to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to engage with industry leaders and peers. If you are a registered electrical contractor with a valid Wireman’s Licence and are registered with the Department of Employment and Labour, there is still time to become a member of ECA(SA) and participate in this important industry gathering. Join Regional Director and past ECA(SA) President, Mr Johnny Cunniff, as he shares the latest developments, regulatory updates, and key industry insights affecting electrical contractors. The meeting promises to be another valuable platform for learning, networking, and staying informed in an ever-evolving industry.
