The Presidential Excellence Awards play a key role in the Electrical Contracting Industry. It brings to life the true nature of the contractor’s challenges, skills, commitment and excellence. The awards help us all to tell our story and put the art of electrical contracting in the critical space it occupies. As we prepare for the 12th Presidential Awards, the work of Electrical Contractors has taken centre stage in the economic development of our nation, and registered members are recognised for the long-term values, the safety and the compliance that they commit to providing.
As the entries come in, and as we enter the build-up to the Gala Event, to be held at Emperor’s Palace on 22 November 2024, we feel the importance of what we are about to celebrate: excellence means standards; excellence means going above and beyond; excellence is what contractors provide our nation – the opportunity fort sustained economic growth.
Call for entries
The importance of every entry cannot be underestimated. Making your work count, and throwing your hat in the ring, is a declaration of excellence; a confident statement about what your company stands for. The ECA(SA) encourages you to study the categories and place your projects between 1 July 2023 and 31 July 2024 in line to win, in line for the recognition they so deserve, and give your operation the boost it deserves for an energised approach on the road forward. There is no downside to entering, and we welcome them all.

Simply enter your best projects undertaken between 1 July 2023 and 31 July 2024 in one or more of the 14 categories, along with high resolution images of the work undertaken and return the forms to and email them to either to theresa@ecasa.co.za by 31 October 2024.

Don’t underestimate your potential to win!
No matter the size of your company or the size of the project – past winners have achieved astonishing quality in large and small contracts. Trust your gut feelings: do you have that feeling that your projects exemplify excellence? Yes? Then enter!
But now here’s a challenge: approach the quality of your entry in the same way you approached that project. Get the best images you can. Cell phone images can work – just check your settings and make sure they are hi res, and if you’re shooting outside try for early mornings or pre-dusk for best natural light. The winners and their entries are showcased in the November-December issue of SA Electrical Contractor, and we can only use images that are print quality. And ask us at ECA(SA) for help.
