The Electrical Contractors’ Association of South Africa (ECA(SA)) KwaZulu-Natal region hosted its 9th Annual Charity Golf Day on 12 June 2026 at the scenic Umhlali Country Club. The event once again proved to be a highlight on the regional calendar, combining industry camaraderie with meaningful community support.
The day attracted 64 players, with participation structured around a 4-ball alliance format, where two scores counted. A total of 16 four-balls took to the course, each entry priced at R5 500, alongside the generous support of 12 hole sponsors contributing R3 500 per hole.
Registration commenced at 10h00, followed by a staggered tee-off starting at 11h00. Players were treated to exceptional weather conditions, with clear skies and unseasonably warm temperatures — a perfect backdrop for a memorable day of golf. The pristine condition of the Umhlali course further enhanced the experience, with many remarking that one could hardly believe it was winter.
The event was well supported by leadership from ECA(SA)’s National Executive Committee (NEC), including the President, National Director, and the Regional Chairman, underscoring the importance of the initiative within the organisation.
Importantly, the golf day continues to uphold its charitable purpose. This year’s proceeds will be directed towards Sinakekele Homes and Mzamo Homes, organisations dedicated to supporting vulnerable members of the community.
The day concluded with a prize-giving dinner at 17h00, where players and sponsors gathered to celebrate the day’s achievements. With supper served and a festive atmosphere prevailing, attendees reflected on both the sporting success and the collective effort to make a positive social impact.
