The ECA(SA) Cape Town branch presented the three-day face-to-face Estimating and Tendering course at its accredited training facility in Newmarket Street in August 2023. Attendees were kept on their feet and highly engaged by one the association’s most recognised subject experts, Calli Pieterse.
ALIVE WITH CONTENT
The course arms candidates with core elements required for the successful establishment, development and ongoing growth of Electrical Contracting businesses. Analysing and developing a deep understanding of costs, pricing and profit per job establishes the rock solid foundation for what follows, including: tender forms, enquiries and documentation; measuring and extracting quantities; costing and extracting labour content; overhead structures; applying profits and overheads to labour and material costs; and, submission of the tender.
Candidates are further equipped with the skills to control contracts, pricing jobs in accordance with principled business operations as well managing and protecting companies from risks.
Held from the 22 to the 24 August 2023, the course was handsomely subscribed with attendees from a variety of disciplines, including contractors, quantity surveyors, tendering and procurement staff, project managers, and costing / estimating staff in the electrical contracting/construction industry.
