NBCEI HAS R940-MILLION IN UNCLAIMED AND DORMANT PENSION FUND BENEFITS
The Electrical Contracting Industry Pension Fund (“The Fund”) has unclaimed and dormant benefits estimated at R940m and, to ensure this money is paid to the rightful beneficiaries, invites members, former members and pensioners of the Fund, going as far back as 31 December 2008, to contact the National Bargaining Council for the Electrical Industry of South Africa (NBCEISA) to ensure that the NBCEISA has on record the correct details of all members.
The Fund would like to trace and pay members who exited the fund who may not have claimed their full benefits at the time of exit or who may have a surplus allocation due to them. Where a potential former member may be deceased, the Fund appeals to relatives to come forward with the details of the deceased member.
Call Centre
The NBCEI has set up a call centre to speed up the process and appeals to members that when contacting the NBCEISA Call centre, to please ensure you have the following documents on hand:
- A valid South African ID document or Death Certificate of the member.
- Proof of Address.
- Contact Details: Landline number; cell phone number; alternative contact number; email address.
- Proof of membership such as a Member Benefit Statement or payslip or proof of benefits previously paid from the ECI Pension Fund.
Please note: Even if you have misplaced your benefit statement, call in with your identity number. We will use it to trace whether you have a record in the fund.
