WEST RAND BRANCH ESTABLISHED WITH MEMBERS’ SUPPORT
A new West Rand branch of the ECA(SA) was established on 24 April with the overwhelming support of local members, says Chris Koen, Regional Director of the Highveld region.
Mathys de Jager of Pearl Electrical was elected as the Chairman of the new branch and he is supported by Harry de Lange of Delriet Electrical as Vice-Chairman.
Mathys, who has been a member of the ECA for nearly two decades, says he has already started to visit conveyancing attorneys and estate agents in the area to explain the obvious benefits of using ECA members to inspect properties and issue compliant Certificates of Compliance.
“I’m also talking to local electrical contractors about what the ECA(SA) can do for them and I hope to increase membership on the West Rand,” says Mathys.
Chris says the newly established West Rand branch of the ECA(SA) serves members in Randburg; Roodepoort; Krugersdorp (Mogale); Randfontein; Westonaria; Bekkersdahl; Kagiso; Soweto; Muldersdrift; Honeydew; Hekpoort; Magaliesburg; and Carltonville.
Meetings will take place three times a year with the next meeting to be held on 31 July at the Discovery Bowling Club in Roodepoort.
Associate members of the ECA that supported the meeting were: Altsa Lighting; Brother; CCG; Citiq Prepaid Meters; Crabtree SA; HellermannTyton; Legrand SA; Major Tech; and Schneider Electric.
