Anthony Schewitz, Highveld Regional Director, says that on 19 August more than 30 electricians attended the new practical course to go over all the tests in SANS 10142-1 Ed 3.1. Bjorn van Reenen and his assistant from Major Tech assisted in giving a practical demonstration on how to get the most out of multimeters, PSCC/loop testers, insulation resistance testers, earth resistance testers, phase rotation testers and socket outlet ELCB testers. Attendees learnt how to conduct all the tests in Section 8.6 of SANS 10142-1 Edition 3.1. “The feedback has been very positive and everyone agreed that the course helped them understand test values better and many were surprised that even after years in the industry, it helps to get guidance to ensure you test correctly,” says Anthony.
The next practical session will be held in Johannesburg in association with Hellermanntyton at their premises in Libro Park, book now to avoid disappointment as limited seats are available. This course will be presented again if demand warrants it.
