VACANCY FOR A TRAINING MANAGER – CAPE TOWN OFFICE

The Electrical Contractors Association of S.A. (ECA)(SA) has an interim full time contract position available for a suitably qualified person in its Cape Town office. This position may become permanent.

The successful candidate should be available to commence immediately and shall be responsible for the planning, coordinating, presentation and control of the training in its Cape Town Training Centre and elsewhere when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

Installation Electrician License
• Excellent working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 Wiring of Premises Code, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHS Act) Electrical Installation Regulations
• Fluency in English
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and sound administration.
• Registration as an Assessor and /or Moderator and or as an Electric Fence System Installer with the EW SETA will be advantageous.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position will be advantageous.
• Familiarity with the Electrical Construction Operator (ELCONOP) job descriptions will be advantageous.

Duties include:

• Organising and executing practical training for employees of the Electrical Contracting Industry and other industry private students or unemployed persons.
• Managing all day-to-day activities within the training Centre.
• Presenting the prescribed training courses according to the approved syllabi, to students attending approved courses at the training centre and proving career guidance.
• Submission of reports and course documentation.
• Maintaining control, record keeping and safety standards in the training centre.
• Purchasing of material and equipment for the training Centre.
• Presentation of Management Training Courses when required.
• Keeping abreast of any new or amended Regulations pertaining to and affecting the industry.
• Attending to technical related matters and enquiries and serving on and providing input when required to the ECA (SA) National and Regional Committees.
